Our Story: How B. Love Came to Life

Bobby Love who at 6’8” dealt with a difficult situation while looking to purchase some tall apparel for his stature in 2013.

After ordering multiple tall jogger pants and long sleeve t-shirts from various brands, he soon realized that many of the jogger pants were not long enough with the same outcome with the sleeve length of the t-shirts. Frustrated by this experience but also inspired by the idea of wanting to provide tall guys an easier experience in finding apparel that fits, B.Love tall menswear was born.

With no experience in the fashion industry; Bobby set out to learn about the industry from the business side as well as apparel side. “In a few months I registered the company name, worked with a business major at a local university to develop a business plan, and then created the website.” One thing still remained… where to purchase apparel in bulk for tall guys!

While on business in the far east region for his employer, Bobby decided to use his free time to call and meet with multiple apparel suppliers to learn about the manufacturing process. “One manufacturer in Japan saw my inexperience and offered to guide me on the overall flow in purchasing in bulk based on design specifications. He even shared the process of receiving the products after purchase.”  

Months later the e-commerce store now had apparel to offer. Tall jogger pants in various designs, sizes, and colors along with tall t-shirts were the initial offerings to consumers. “I wasn't too sure of what to offer! I initially wanted to offer an array of designs for tall guys but soon realized it would be an expensive endeavor, so I focused on the athleisure side of fashion, which ultimately led to the start-up B. Love Tall Menswear” 

At his employer's office in the Washington, DC area is where now VP, Cassidy who at 6’6” and Bobby were introduced. “My colleagues kept commenting on how I should meet this guy that's just as tall,” Cassidy says. After a few meetups, Bobby sold Cassidy on partnering with him on the endeavor. “We both faced the same challenges; finding quality apparel and shoes that fit while being offered at a reasonable price point, so it just made sense to partner.”
